THE EDMUND CARR

GREAT BADDOW

CHARITY RACES 2010

Organised by The Rotary Club of Chelmsford Mildmay

The Great Baddow Charity Race is now in its 26th year, and since it was first run the event has become a firm favourite in the sporting calendar of Chelmsford, and particularly Great Baddow.

For the last 15 years the event has been organised by the Rotary Club of Chelmsford Mildmay, after the Club was asked for help in organising the Races by the instigator of the Races who had been organising the event on his own.   As a means of service in the community, and as a way of raising funds for local charities, the Rotary Club was delighted to be able to assist.    A downloadable poster, in .pdf format, is available here.

Held each year on a Sunday in the middle of May, there is a 10 mile road race for the serious runner, and a 2 mile fun run for all to join in.   The 10 mile race is run under the regulations of UK Athletics/BARR - 2010 Road Race Licence No 20090132 - and over the years the event has grown in stature and become an well respected event in the road running calendar.   We are especially pleased that we are again running the event under BARR Gold Grade status for the event.   The course is the same as last year and the distance certified as accurate - Course Accuracy Certificate No. 08/020.

This year (2010) the Races will be on Sunday 23rd May, again based at the Great Baddow Recreation Ground, near Chelmsford in Essex.   The 10 Mile Race will start at 11.00 am, and the 2 mile Fun Run at about 11.10 am.
